OP, as far as gaming is concerned, the A12 processor in the XS would be more geared towards ‘frames per second’, but that also be dependent on the type a game that you’re playing as well that you would notice.

The main plus of A12 is sustained performance over time. Nothing else can come close to A12 sustained performance.

Benchmark is not real life use. It is rather meaningless in day to day applications.

Not entirely true. Benchmarks show capability of a device. Whether you use to it’s full capacity or not is up to you.

How is it possible that there is not so much big difference between A11 and A12 on XS?
