I had to scratch my head on that one. However, after reading my post I can see why you would say that. The 20/23" screen thing was just me trying say it would be a sweet add-on. Sorry for the confusion.

And I hope no offense was taken. None was meant. A 20/23" display would be sweet, but that's a lot of $.

Hey, I'm pretty new to the Mac community and just had a few questions.

1: I am getting into a lot of web design, graphic design, print layout, etc. on Windows (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, In Design, etc.). I was just wondering about probably a pretty stupid question, but what are the benefits of a Mac for things like this. I know it's the industry standard, but is there any specific reason for this  ? j/w

2: Right now I have a PC desktop and laptop, and I was thinking about selling the laptop and buying a new 15" 1.33GHz powerbook. Do you think this would serve me better for the activities mentioned above then my PC laptop? Since I have heard that Mac is the way to go as far as for design.

I think these might be a little stupid, but I'm pretty new as far as Mac goes so any help/advice would be greatly appriciated. Thanks :)
Well, people have done a pretty good job discussing the benefits of mac ownership...which I mostly agree with...I have two concerns/caveats for you to consider (although they are relatively minor)
1)If you have purchased any of the software you mentioned (photoshop, MX suite etc) for PC, then you would be relatively foolish to switch and re-purchase those programs...conversely, understand that whichever platform you decide, if you buy a bunch of expensive software, you will effectively be stuck w/ that platform. I personally love my Macs, and would never switch, but choose carefully..
2) Development has stopped on IE for mac, and if you are into web design, this might pose a minor problem for making sure your sites load correctly, as IE is still the dominant browser on the PC side...so owning a mac kinda precludes you verifying how things look on PC IE...there are of course, sites that provide verification for you, so not a huge deal, just wanted to mention it...
Good luck
