I'd recommend Tap Forms as an alternative. It can import Bento directly. Been using it as a replacement for a while now and I like it. Syncs well with the iOS app.

I second Tap Forms. The developer, Brendan, is super responsive. For a short while, the sync (Mac to Mac, Mac to iOS) was through IBM's Cloudant, but now it is back to iCloud or through network, so don't have to mess with third party. Very useful piece of software.

Indeed. I have been trying Tap Forms for the past few years but since my main need is for a huge video archive (14,500 records) and many records share the same file. To substitute Tap Forms for Bento it doesn't allow video files to be attached easily to records like in Bento. Each record needs to be manually linked to the video file alias while bento allows one to easily to insert and copy video aliases over as many records appropriate. I have been hoping this would eventually be incorporated into Tap Forms (and you are right about Brendan and his support. Really quick and helpful) but I guess I have to face facts and manually attach the file aliases to 14,500 records.
