Can anyone recommend an 3.5mm audio capture method on the 2016 mcbtb 15 inch?

I have the 2016 Macbook pro 15 and although it does have a couple issues it's working great for my workflow.
One of the project I'm working on is live streaming. Here is a little more about our set up.

Audio is captured with a Senheiser ME66 and sent to a Tascam DR100 mkII (via xlr) and then wired to a Panasonic GH4 (via 3.5mm).
We are using Blackmagic Ultra Studio Recorders to bring in HDMI (video/audio) from a GH4.

Next week we will be adding a second Black Magic Ultra Studio Recorder and want to separate our audio from the video input. Second camera will be a Sony FS700 or Go Pro Hero 5.

I originally bought one of these 3.5mm to USB C adapters thinking it would work and I'd still be able to monitor with my headphones in the 3.5mm jack. I couldn't get these to work (and couldn't find a tutorial for them either).

I'm now thinking this might be another option?

Any help would be appreciated, links to products, links to tutorials, etc.
Thanks!
