Local Apple dealer listed some 'firesale' PMs...I hit the VISA card with the following from their list which I was told were 4 DIMM models.

PM G5 2.0Ghz DP 512/160/SD/9600 $1693

got off the phone and then decided BT and 250Gb HD was worth an extra $75 so changed to another in their list:

PM G5 2.0Ghz DP 512/250/SD/BT $1768

Much to my delight system profiler tells me its an 8 DIMM model so that's PCI-X plus it had airport (standard with BT option?)

At that stage about 2 hrs ago I still hadn't figured out what the video card description "ATY,R350" meant. Seems I scored the Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB...better than the 9600 I assumed would be in it like the first one.

NB: Prices are expensive for Macs DownUnder - by comparison new Dual Core I was considering from the Australian Apple store:

DC 2.0 Ghz 2GB/250 6600 256mb BT/AP 56k $3,144
(all prices in USD after converting from AUD)

So for $75 you got 90GB more HD, bluetooth, airport, 4 extra RAM slots, PCI-X, and a 9800 instead of a 9600? That's quite a bargain.

That's what I don't understand. Did he spend $75 on the BT upgrade or the whole system together (which I doubt)?

Yes that's right - at the time of purchase over the phone I was told it was a 4 DIMM machine and sales rep didn't know what video card was in it - I assumed 9600 or GF5200 64mb at that stage. This was the only BTO order machine in the sale list and I wondered if orig purchaser upped video along with HD, BT/airport turns out they did!

NB: I edited orig msg with prices.
