I suppose I just started seeing people mention ad blockers more recently on here.

Never realized they existed and it's very painful on Facebook app on iPhone.

Lots of people mentioned Firefox fucus but that seems like more of a browser to use.

What do you all recommend using free and paid and do they work in iOS and Mac OS? Where do you all notice the obvious difference where it clearly works?

Thanks in advance

I use Adguard on my Mac, iPhone and iPads and it works great.

It had a little issue with the iOS 11 beta's but now all works. I also use adblocker plus on my phone and iPad.

Both are free and are available in the App Store.

Firefox Focus for iOS also blocks ads in Safari, if you allow it to. It's not like it only protects you when using their standalone browser.

I use that on my phone/iPad and Adguard on my Mac.

Can you post a pic of the AdBlocker plus please

Does this cover Facebook ads

I am using 1Blocker for Safari on my iPhone with the latest beta of iOS 11.
Loading websites is really slow, often loading sites keeps hanging halfway and then I've to wait for about 2 or 3 seconds before the entire sites is finished loading.

I don't have the paid 1Blocker. So not sure if the free does anything. Is it worth paying for the upgrade?
I use Adguard Pro on my devices. I have been very happy with it and bought the lifetime license. I haven't used 1Blocker since it first came out. Back then, it worked ok. And at the time, I believe it was geared more towards people who don't might having to tweak the settings on the app all the time. That wasn't for me.

I use Wipr on both – mainly because on Safari on macOS all other ad blockers need access to read all content from webpages including passwords

For iOS I find adblock fast is pretty decent

Lionz is also really good - probably one of the best ad blockers on iOS imo

for Mac, ad block pro is very solid.

I use AdGuard on iOS and my Mac and have been satisfied. My one issue is that occasionally, pages are wrongly blocked on iOS, causing a hassle to access the page. This happens with some of my University web pages even.

Seems like everything people have mentioned is for web browsing only. What about for example even using Tapatalk app for this forum or other apps which load up ads

That's when you buy the pro applications of these apps. Buy pro version to avoid ads. Sometimes you got to pay for the best experience.
