What are the best alternative and yet cheaper displays to the current apple displays, would also want to the best displays with cams built in, or if there are none, what are the best hd webcams that I could use with a Mac pro. :apple:

no other decent displays have webcams. or speakers, for that matter.

the only true alternative is the HP ZR27w. Doublesight and Dell also have 27" IPS models, but they have a different color gamut.

When did apples displays first start including cameras?

When they released the 24" LED (2008 maybe?). Then they followed up with the 27". They had that little isight camera camera they sold but they discontinued that a while ago.

I recommend NEC and Eizo for professionals, and some Dells for "prosumers".

A small, high quality HD webcam is a bit difficult to find. 😡
