best and fastest video converter ?

hello, i'm new here in macrumors and i would love your thoughs about wich is the fastest video converter available for mac that converts .flv files. he thing is that my friend send me some music videos that i really into. and they are all .flv. they can be played on real player but my i don't like it. it takes me 1.93 gigs of my 2g ram !

VLC Player plays .flv files without the need to convert them.

Permute. Great little program
Another one is Handbrake, but it's more complex than Permute (it gives you more options).

wow ! thanks for the very fast replies ! i will try the permute. i really like a converter, i already tried handbrake but is extremely slow.
i'm not a noob dude 😛 i don't matter about the options it hav, just the fastest one 😛

yeah like permute a lot. it's a very "direct" program, like all2mp3.
took 30 min to convert ne-yo's song. about 100 mb .
