So I have had the Macbook Air 11" for the longest time, and the screen quality has finally gotten to me and I bit the bullet and bought the 13" macbook pro retina. Now I need a new neoprene sleeve. I see some market a 13" air sleeve as fitting the mbp retina 13" but is that reality? I have a tucano second skin for my macbook air 11", and love it because it's so minimal.

I have ordered 2 cases through the site, a 13 inch Air case and a 15 rMBP case, and both are extremely high quality and they both have my name engraved. The leather is really nice, as well. My favorite cases for Macbooks by far.

They're quite nice, my friend has 2 of them. The downside is it's very difficult to get the laptop in and out, even after the break-in period. Additionally, they leave the most vulnerable part of your mac (the air intakes behind the hinge) completely exposed to the elements. While the two above issues aren't a big deal for me, they are for some. Personally I don't like the cases because to some they're "classic," to me they're old fashioned and remind me of something my grandpa would carry his files to work in the 1960's in. :)

mach3 composites, they are tight fit and made of carbon fiber, they have also some mil standards

On my cases it's actually really easy to remove the laptops from the cases. I like it because the laptop doesn't want to slide out on its own, but when pulling without much effort, I can remove the laptops easily. I'm sure this varies from case to case though, as even a small adjustment in the fitting of the laptop would likely make a big difference. Maybe your friends cases fit a little bit tighter.

I agree that a downside with the case is the exposed hinge. Now, if you check out the video on his site he supposedly has 'solid edge tech' on all his cases, so this would help prevent damage to the hinge, but it definitely could get damaged while in the case if the right scenario occurred. I'm very careful with my laptops even in the cases, however, so it's not a real issue for me. For someone that might not be as careful, that would be a different story.
