Queue the Monty Python: "and now for something completely different". I ordered the TCL 60 XE on Amazon. It has gotten solid reviews across the board and is a rather unique smartphone as the 6.7 flat display has a matte finish because it turns into an eReader with a flip of the switch. The performance is decent at it's $200 price point.

Supposedly TCL is now offering 2 OS upgrades with 5 years of security updates.

Hi all,

I am looking to buy an Android phone for my mum for Xmas. She currently has a Motorolo G53 5g phone but the screen has cracked.
She is in her 60's so she isn't looking for a phone with a lot of features, as she isn't the best with tech. She just wants a phone that has a large screen, has good picture quality and is easy to use. She mainly uses her phone for WhatsApp messaging and watching YouTube and TikTok videos.

My budget is £400 but I can stretch if necessary.

I'm assuming you bought your mother another gift for Christmas as its now March

How do you guys rate the OnePlus Nord 5?
Is it a good, reliable phone?
Most of the reviews I saw about it said it was worse in pretty much every way than the OnePlus Nord 4. Might be worth saving a bit of cash and getting the 4? Screen size is 6.74 inch versus the 5's 6.83 inch.

The Moto Edge 60 might be worth a look, 6.67inch screen, decent camera performance and it's £300 at Argos.
