I currently use fairmount to strip off the encrypto,

but after that it takes FOR EVER to have it spin up the dvd all the way it needs to in order to rip the dvd.

I am using either dvd2onex or mac the ripper, but since fairmount is taking so long when i start to rip the video _ts folder to the hrddrive, it causes my movies to stutter, and even bounce around when i go to make a handbrake backup!

what other apps will allow you to rip the video_ts folders from your own dvd's?

and take off the enrypto besides fairmount?

The latest available free version is 2.6.6, but there is a paid 3.0 beta out there somewhere.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

If you're backing up copies of the DVDs you own mac the ripper will rip CCS encryped disks.

Handbrake will as well if you have VLC media player installed (to provide the libraries for decryption).

Mac the ripper with create Video_Tds folders whereas handbrake is usful to rip to other formats such as mp4

I actually rip all movies to hdd to viseo ts folders then batch up a huge que from handbrake and let it rip everything to apple tv settings for ps3 streaming!!

No more fairmount - I don't even have it installed.

I see you have a ton of tutorials?

maybe you could answer me this about rdc harddrives on the network?

i use to be able to see all connected drives on the left side of say ,ac harddrive or finder, but i now have to go to finders go butto then to the network icon to see the drives,

how do i get them listed as shared again under my left hand side of my harddrive listing?

thanks!

Are your shared settings checked?

for some reason they will still not show up!1 and i do not know why?

maybe a setting under my shared folders? Maybe i set everyone to allow nothing maybe?

but once i click on them under the finder windo they show up on the screen just not under the shared tab on the left side?

Thanks, is it worth it to pay for the beta?
IMHO, no.

I paid for it. It's buggy. It's been a while since I used it. It was possible to rip a DVD that MTR 2.6.6 would not do. However, I remember it crashing so I had to attempt the RIP a few times before it worked.

With MTR 2.6.6, if I can't rip the whole DVD, so far I've found that I can still rip the main feature.

I find it interesting that the creator of MTR has such a tough system for getting the update. Also wondering why he hasn't completed the update.

Maybe this will help then.

nope, did not help, it keeps saying i am connected to the server and can access the files locally?

they use to show up under a title stating: shared but are now gone, and now when i am on RDC to that other computer, the shared drives dont even show up?

I will stick with the free version, i only like the main title any ways!!

I got it to work by doing this:

I went to the finder menu, selected go, went to network then onto the computer (for me) named office, right clicked one of the drives and selected show original and waaaaalaaa!

they appeared under the left side of my drives listing as shared!!

Thanks for the help!!

I downloaded a torrent that came as a Video_TS and didn't know how to view it and after much researching thinks like Mac Ripper and others, that didn't work. Finally I chose to take the Video_TS files into MPEG Streamclip and like magic, I could encode this into a Quicktime mov file as well as MP4 file for my I Touch. This is the best program for anything with codecs issues I have ever used. I recommend it very much.

Handbrake works better for encoding Video_TS.
