Best app for...

Hi! Can anyone recommend me a free application that converts avi files into PSP, iPod 5G mp4 resolution? Universal Binary would be perfect then!

I've been searching but I figured out MacRumors would be a hell lot precise because even searching I could end up downloading the "not-best-at-its-task" application, so, I trust your judgement and thank you for your time 🙂

In addition to ffmpegx, which is excellent...

iSquint is a program that only converts to iPod / iTunes style files. It's very simple, drag-and-drop, fast, and free. I love it. They also make a commercial product VisualHub which is much more advanced.

Instant Handbrake is another piece of software you'll want; it does the same in essence for DVDs.

One more piece of the trifecta that some people like (but I've never used) is PodTube. What it does is capture video off YouTube into iPod-style files.
