We're a week in and they're already discounted, eh?
We're not a week in. While the M3 MacBook Air was announced on March 4, 2024 (4 days ago), it was officially made available today.

Customers can order starting today, with availability beginning Friday, March 8.

That said, every new Mac, iPhone, iPad, etc. have been marked down/put on sale on day one of availability. This isn't something new or a sign that Apple is doomed.
