Serious question, but do you think Amazon has been doing all these Apple deals because of the upcoming event(s) and is trying to get ahead of the wave and get rid of their inventory just in case Apple does indeed introduce new updated Apple TV's & AirPods Max?

Cause Im in the market for an Apple TV but an updated one would be sweet.

Not mention I keep hearing that the majority of people prefer the older 1st gen Siri remote, you know the glass one as oppose to this newer one since people say the touch sensitive swiping capabilities are too sensitive causing movie viewers to accidentally lose their place during a movie just by accidentally moving their 2nd gen Siri remote.

I just snapped up a pair of the AirPods Max a few days ago once the price dropped. Since there have been no rumors about those being updated anytime soon, I think the recent price drops have more to do with a glut of supply piling up, probably a result of Apple's top-of-the-line supply chain management meeting demand faster than the retailers anticipated. MacBook Pros aren't supposed to be update soon either but they've been receiving very surprising $400 discounts lately, even the newly-released Macbook Air M2 has gotten a $100 discount for some models.

If you can wait I wouldn't buy an Apple TV before next Wednesday's Apple event, perhaps even until after next month's anticipated iPad/Mac event. I wouldn't expect a new Apple TV (5K is not necessary for now) but a price drop might be in store. As a shareholder I'd like to see Apple juice Apple TV+ subscriptions more with cheaper hardware, there should be a basic $99 Apple TV HD with a recent processor.

Interesting because I hate the old remote and have purchased new remotes for my older ATVs. I like having dedicated power and volume buttons.
