I am going into my freshman year of college at ASU. I need some help choosing a backpack that will carry my Laptop, Cables, Books, and Supplies. Any ideas?

Fist of all, congrats and good luck in college.

Secondly, I just used my Burton backpack withTHIS sleeve for 4 years of college. It allowed me to cary all my books and provided excellent protection for my MBP.

I went through about 4 sleeves before I picked this one up. It is extremely padded and protects your laptop even during those times you forget it's in there and drop your backpack 3'.

Thanks for your input!

I was looking at this backpack: Here and this one Here and can't decide..

Does anyone have any experience with either?

Your links don't work. Which backpacks were you inquiring about?
I use the Incase Backpack (http://www.goincase.com/products/detail/backpack-cl55092) and I love it. You don't need to use a sleeve with it, as there is a compartment with faux fur and padded protection, but I stuff my Incase sleeve in there as well. I've never had any issues with the bag in the two years I've owned it.

Looks like a good backpack. Is it on apples site?

I was looking at the:

Brenthaven MetroLite BP-XF Backpack (http://store.apple.com/us/product/TV981ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA2Ng&mco=MTA4MjU2OTU&s=topSellers)
Incase Paul Rodriguez Signature Collection Skate Pack Basic(http://store.apple.com/us/product/TW422ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA2Ng&mco=MTA4MjU1MzE&s=topSellers)

Incase

I'll go with the Incase. I am in the University right now and I can say that Incase is the best bag for students in the market right now. Been using Incase for almost 5 years since the original Macbook Pro and they never disappoint me. I would recommend Incase other than Targus or any other brand. But that's just me.

Goodluck in college.

I second this backpack. I've had it for years and its still going strong...looks like new. The only drawback on this bag is that its a little tight on room. I doubt after all of your computer equipment that you could fit more than two textbooks in there.

And congrats on ASU, I went to the Polytechnic campus for flight school.

4 years ago, for my HS graduation present, I got a Crumpler backpack for college. I'm not sure what model it is called, but according to their site, it's a King Single because I have a 15" laptop (they have different sizes for different laptops). Best backpack I have ever had.

After 4 years it is just like new, other than a some dirt on the bottom of it. Yeah, it is expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Yep, it's on their website and sold in stores. Here's the link for you.

In reality, the decision comes down to preference. All the mentioned backpacks are good quality.
Everyone is going to have a particular one he or she likes more. I swear by the Incase.

i would go incase, but unless you skate i wouldnt get the PROD backpack

get the coated nylon backpack:
http://www.goincase.com/products/detail/canvas-backpack-cl55243

incredible backpack. holds the 15" nice and snug.

I've been eyeing that incase backpack but it's a pretty penny

I have the incase black bag nylon that fits up to a 17". Its durable, nice, and comfortable, and of course, ergonomic so it wound hurt your shoulders or back. It's expensive but you get what you pay for. I would buy again. Sometimes it may seem a bit tight for some things in the second large pocket but its actually perfect and forces you to bring only what you need, not what you think you may need and never use it. Such as tons of pens, highlighters, pencils, etc.

Thanks for everyones help. I took a look and am now stuck between the following:

Targus 17” CityGear Laptop Backpack
BBP Industries Backpack
Incase

Ugh.. this is going to be tough..

ANother vote for Crumpler. Its very comfortable and has a lot of compartments.

Do you have the opportunity to go to an Apple store and check out the bags for yourself? It may be an easier decision if you can see the bags in person.
