Do you have the opportunity to go to an Apple store and check out the bags for yourself? It may be an easier decision if you can see the bags in person.

I did but they had a really terrible selection. The apple store by my house is not too great at all.

Hey Atothendrew24did u get the hi res display? I know, random, but I'm curious.

Thanks.

By the way, get a SwissGear backpack. They are the best.

Sadly no. I wish i did though. but honestly im fine with the res of the one i have. (1440 x 900)

I don't get the big deal. It's a backpack. Just buy one that you like. It doesn't have to be a special backpack. I didn't even know my Nike backpack had a laptop holder when I bought it.

1. Buy a backpack
2. If there is no laptop sleeve in the backpack, buy a sleeve if you want.
3. Profit

I have a speck aftpack

http://www.speckproducts.com/products/aftpack-backpack/notebooks-up-to-17/170

I really enjoy it. I've been using it 2 years strong and it still looks brand new. It's just a bit more stylish (if that's your thing).

There is considerable padding for a notebook, it is also firm and resistant to bending. It has a zipper on the other side to access the notebook without having to fumble through other books and it is very convenient.

The main pocket is very roomy. I fit 3 textbooks, 1 being a large calculus book, 3 1in binders, an extra notebook, and a pack of flash cards. There is another decent sized compartment in the front with room for small notebooks, pens, pencils, etc. It's VERY large for a second compartment.

I carry my TI-89 graphing calculator, Magic mouse, planner, hoards of writing utensils, stapler, instant coffees, candies, etc. cell phone, keys, a novel to read, and a boogie board. I still have enough space for a few more things if I needed them.

Also, when the bag has a book or two in it, and the notebook, the rubber feet help the bag stand up on its own making retrieval of things very easy.

It is also just comfortable. I got the bag half off at a local store but coupons are always floating around the internet. I'd definitely give it a try.

Have been using this Incase backpack for a while, it's really great:

Very sturdy, lots of comfort, can hardly feel any weight on my back, looks great.
There's also a bigger version with lots or additional space:

I like the slim version because I don't want to carry a huge backpack around all day. This fits my MBP along with a few notebooks, two thick books or 3-4 smaller ones, and some pens, cables, etc.

You're a college student and plan to use the bag around campus to lug your MBP and books. I would not suggest the Compact. Like I initially recommended, go for the Incase Backpack. It's bigger than the Compact and is well worth the extra $20.
My bag looks practically brand new after two years of daily use.

Today i went to my apple store and bought the incase compact backpack and i soon learned that it simply does not have enough room for all the things i need to carry.

I'm going to take it back and research the bigger one because it looks really nice.
This seems like a good deal.. http://cgi.ebay.com/InCase-Canvas-B...ltDomain_2&hash=item27b3650098#ht_2337wt_1139

So now its between this and the http://themacfeed.com/2010/04/review-bbp-bags-industries-backpack/
