    Hey guys,

I just got an iPad mini and I'm looking for the best way to carry it and my other things around campus. Here's what I need to carry around:
    - iPad mini and charger
    - apple Bluetooth keyboard
    - a spiral notebook, a small book or two, a few pens
    - sometimes a 15" mbp

I want a bag that's big enough to carry the mbp when necessary but that doesn't feel empty or too big when I carry it without. I've looked at waterfield and timbuk2 and would be interested to hear people's experiences with those brands and with ny others that would be good options.

    Tanks for any help!

"A small book or two..." may exclude this, but my favorite case/bag for any 15" MBP has always been the Brenthaven Edge. Would hold all of the items you mentioned sans the book, depending on the size of said book.

Would caution that I found the Edge II nice as well, but it came in a multipurpose 16.4" size for various laptops and the 15" as well as 17" MBP. Not nearly as an awesome snug fit as the original on the 15".

I have several Timbuk2 bags and love them. My no.1 reason for having so many is because they are very durable, and oh have loads of pockets for stuff. When I was commuting I would get stuck in the rain waiting for the shuttle bus. The bag not only protected my gear but I also used as a shield from the rain that my umbrella didn't catch.

idk if you can find one online.. I have the Blogger (as my daily bag) which has a compartment for my 15in MBP and my iPad. The compartment is well padded. I have sleeves for both MBP (Tucano Second Skin) and iPad (Timbuk2 Plush Sleeve), and there is still enough room for both.

I think any of the Timbuk2 bags will work for you. You have to decide if you want a messenger style or backpack. I have all messenger style. Occasionally I will use them as a camera bag or even store my food when I go to concerts. When I just carry my iPad in the bag, it puts a little weight in it but it's not too light carry around. I might have with me a folder with papers or notebook. I also carry the Timbuk2 Clear Flexito bag inside. It keeps all the wires nice and compact.

This might work if you don't have a lot

    or backpack

if you don't mind used... check ebay for a Blogger. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdou54lxFvc

I bought the Tumi Alpha Bravo Knox Backpack for exactly the same reason -- a bag that's big enough to carry a MB (I have an 11-inch MB Air)+iPad3+work files but does feel big (or empty without the MB and/or work files) because it is tapered from the top to the bottom. It also has several pockets.

    Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Luggage-Alpha-Bravo-Backpack-Anthracite/dp/B007PVAERG

    Hope this helps.
