Im getting a 15" MBP and wont to get a 24" monitor i would love a ACD but cant afford to buy a new one. Any suggestions?

i have an Acer H233H though its a 23" but has HDMI input along with the usual DVI and VGA. has built in speakers though never tested out the sound

got this monitor for $180 at costco.

i love it theres no dead pixels and i gotta hand it to acer. they have been making pretty good quality products these days. unlike before

+1 on the Acer H233H

The speakers are 1.5 watt so dont expect anything extraordinary, but I have a Z-5500 for that.

How about this one?http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...lang=en-US&Sp=C&ec=BC-EC12116-Cat1680&topnav=

I would have said the Hyundai W240D. It is nice having HDMI, DVI, VGA and Component video. The colors are even across the screen, good blacks with very little light bleed, quick response and quite bright.

Unfortunately they are difficult to come by now. The current W242D does not have nearly as many features.

Many people do not factor this in but one of my favorite features is a good stand. I can adjust the height to eye level and pivot the screen sideways for reading long PDF documents. So if you do get a cheaper one then buy a decent third party stand. What's the point of having a nice big screen only to slouch when looking at it?

I can also vouch for the Acer H233H monitor. I have had it for almost a month and it is great for the price. Slightest backlight bleed when on a completely black screen but nothing major. Been using it with my PC, just ordered MBP.

I got mine at Walmart in canada, was $239 canadian.

RE: Best bang for the buck 24" monitor

RE:
"Would A 26" Vizio TV a bad ideal for a monitor?"

Yes, it WOULD be a bad idea.

Get a real monitor.

Actually, your best bang for the buck in the 24" range would be either:
- Dell Ultrasharp 24" 2408WFP (very good price RIGHT NOW), or
- HP LP2475w

These are both roughly the same in quality, Dell may have the edge right now, especially price-wise.

I'd suggest you visit anandtech.com and read some of their detailed reviews.

I dunno why no one on these forums ever mention the Eizo S2231W and Eizo S2431W.

At least here (in Norway) they are considerably cheaper than the Apples, and about the same price as the Dells, but they have extremely good ergonomics and great picture quality, built-in usb hub etc..

It's a real sVPA panel, has sRGB setting etc.
There are a few other sVPA 24 inch screens, but for 22 inch screens there are almost only TN panels

Perhaps they are too pricey in the US?

Where in Norway did you buy yours, and how much was it?
