Can anyone point me at a good British gadget review site? My objective is just to look at new electrical gadgets rather than look for something specific.

T3 is reasonable, I suppose, but the reviews are hardly thorough - kind of glosses over the detail and gives some generic comments.
    Pocket-lint doesn't have a very good selection.
The Register doesn't have enough reviews.

    Any ideas?

it depends what you are after. For proper reviews of gadgets I tend to go to specialist sites as the general ones like T3 - well their reviews tend to be a bit crap. so for hifi/av i go to what hifi, avforums and homecinemachoice.com, for mp3 players i tend to go to dapreview, for games i tend to go to ign (american though) & eurogamer etc.

General tech sites dont tend to give as detailed reviews as specific sites and i have found tend to judge products more on looks than function - avoid stuff magazine they are the worst for judging solely on looks

Well, technology is released at a different time in the UK, or sometimes not at all. In some cases it has a different brand name or model name (e.g. the Canon IXUS cameras).

So yes, it is a bit like the news.

    Stuff.tv

They also do good audio and video podcasts which you can subscribe to in iTunes.

Great link, thanks for posting. I do think the reviews are a bit suspect - for instance the 'top 10 SLR cameras' don't list a Canon until 4th place, despite the EOS being considered the best (or at least second best) in the business. And the 'top 10 bridge cameras' don't list a single Sony!

I find http://gadgetshow.five.tv/ to be quite good. Friendly, informative and they have videos as well. So I would say they're pretty good.

But I don't really go to any UK specific gadget sites so I wouldn't know if it's better than the others.

The Gadget show really bugs me, they do tests in situations that would never occur, such as they decided what was the best cheap Sat Nav system by seeing how easy it was to set up while been driven around a dirty track in a rally car.

    It's entertainment, not a review
