Best Browser

i'm currently using Firefox but it eats up my 8gb memory like hell
i know the obvious answer is safari but what do you guys recommend

Also since fire fox is all set-up to remember my passwords etc can these be transfers over as its a pain to enter all my usernames and passwords again

There is no best, just the one you prefer.

I prefer Safari as Chrome is a hog on OS X.

+1 for Safari. As Mike said it is a matter of personal preference.
For me Firefox that I have used on Windows forever is not so smooth on OS X.

Google Chrome Canary....is great...it will remember your passwords and usernames Firefox will NOT and when you want to quit the browser....Firefox is slow to quit...Canary is not.

If you're just hankering to change to a different browser, I use Safari as my #2. Not sure if you can transfer those items. Take a peek in the relevant folders.

Fx is my primary browser and is running well in 10.11.6 and W7. Using anywhere close to 8GB of RAM is not normal and usually such problems can be easily fixed. thats a great question. was searching the forums for this topic few days ago.

Firefox is good for developers and has alot of specific settings you can choose for security. even with that I still choose safari because it runs smooth and saves all my data on my icloud so my other devices can continue in the browser where i left off

Found out some good news if you choose to use Safari. You can (I just tested it) import those items into Safari -- Safari Menu Bar -> File -> Import From -> Firefox -> choose what you wish to import
