so was thinking of picking up a MacBook onlin and buying the apple care from them

So what I'm wondering is do they send me the info to register the apple care or do they do it?


I know years ago you would purchase a box with the info on a paper and register it

Unsure...another question. Does BestBuy give a discount on AppleCare? Several retailers sell it below retail price.

They do not normally discount Apple Care. I am fairly certain they register it all, but I usually just buy Apple Care directly from Apple. You have 364 days to add it from Apple. This gives you time to shop around for a better price on it if you desire.

The last time I purchased AppleCare from a reseller (B&H Photo), they asked me for the serial number and registered it directly with Apple at the time of purchase.
