I wonder how soon the 2018 iPad will go on sale for $299. The 2017 for $249 is tempting, but it has the same chipset as the iPhone 6S and will likely not be supported when iOS 14 comes out in a couple of years.

Looking to upgrade my Series 0 Apple watch. Best Buy has the Series 1 marked down $70, and the Series 3 marked down $30. Thoughts on which one to grab?

Considering Watch is supposed to get a re design by series4, id go with 1 personally. But depends on needs / if you
Care

These "sale" prices are more in line with Apple should be charging MSRP.

Tempting if you need/want something but I can't bring myself to purchase a MBP in its current iteration and my MBA is still holding its own.

I would really like to see Apple's implementation of an eGPU alongside their portables which they announced last year. Where is it Apple?

I will shop at Best Buy again when they announce they've gotten rid of The Retail Equation and stopped treating good customers like criminals who are guilty of returning 2 or 3 defective items and then banning them.

So never shopping there again then? :D

I think Best Buy unnecessarily gets a bad rep. But they’re the king of
iPad sales and the last remaining big box retailer nation wide

I'm still rocking a 128 GB, used Ipad Air (1), which i got for around the same price as this new unit. Somewhat tempting, but I'm still working on my backlog of games, and don't see dnt rain to update internals nor iOS when things still work fine.

I really don't want to get rid of my series 0, but its pretty sluggish and the battery can't last a day without going in power saver mode. The series 1 should be fine but I wasn't sure if the 3 was enough of an upgrade to justify the price.

Edit: I think I misunderstood you, think you were asking for (Apple) hardware.

I am pretty sure (Edited: yup) it's in the last 10.13.4 beta, if that's the case then expect it soon.

- Adds support for Business Chat in Messages in the U.S. and Canada
- Adds support for external graphics processors (eGPU)
- Fixes a graphical corruption issue affecting some iMac Pro apps
- Adds a keyboard shortcut for moving to the rightmost open tab in Safari by pressing Command +9
- Adds a feature for sorting Safari bookmarks by name or URL
- Fixes a bug that could prevent links from appearing in Messages
- Improves protection o confidential data by filling usernames and password fields in Safari only when selected
- Displays new warnings in the Safari Smart Search Field when interacting with forms that require credit card data or passwords on unencrypted web pages
- Displays more information on how personal data is used by certain features

For me, the S3 would easily be worth it because of the GPS alone. Add in the speed and the waterproofing, and I’d say it’s a no brainer. But if you don’t care about gps then it’s a much closer call.

Me too, have the same MBP, the only thing which is slow is the Intel HD graphics (13" entry model).
Your post both reminds me of why I max out any Apple Product I buy and how long they last. My wife's first iMac was not top of the line and it lasted 9 years, along with my 2008 iMac (which I did max out). Using a computer for 9 years was foreign to me. When I got the 2014 Retina iMac, I made sure to max out the graphics , CPU, and HD, but keep the RAM to the minimum (which I can change out easily).

Honestly, who thinks that far ahead of using an iPad not being supported past iOS 14? Thats three years from now of future iOS updates. If you want it now, purchase it and enjoy it for what is and don’t worry about when it might be not be supported. Only on a tech site does these types of thoughts arise.

About 3 years ago, I would have cared about GPS for my running workouts, but I've had to switch to cycling/biking due to injuries and I don't bike enough outside to justify the difference in price. I've taken my series 0 into the pool multiple times without issue, so it mostly comes down to speed. If its a night and day difference, I'll buy the series 3, but if not, the 1 should fit my needs it seems.

there is obviously more to this with regards to your personal experience with BB as I am an Elite Plus member, buy a lot during the year and make PLENTY of returns, and am always greeted with a smile and a "thank you". Not once have I ever been hassled, treated like a criminal or banned.

In that case I hope they die.
They deserve it

Yeah, given your attitude, there is DEFINITELY something you're leaving out of this story.

Same here got a Mid 2010 MBP still running but it’s starting to show it’s age so I know it’s coming.
