Man, my local Best buy has a MacBook open box for $806 before the educational discount. That is a very good deal. I am not into the dongle life so I am going to pass. Plus, I just bought an Air about a month ago.

Bestbuy is having these deals every week now. I'm holding out for the 2018 model to see if they've updated the keyboard. I need the new Macbook pro to last me 5-7. Some people with the new Macbook can't go 6 months without keys on their keyboard breaking.

I don't see how though - there are no Intel chips of which to upgrade. Maybe they'll rev the keyboard and battery again? Maybe a price drop?

It was in Tn, you have to pick it up in store. It would not let me use the $50 edu coupon though. I guess because it was an open box. That is $885 after taxes, I paid more than that for my 256gb Air. I am really wanting it, but I bought the Air about 2 months ago. I hate the dongle and keyboard on the Macbook. The only thing better to me was the retina display. That is why I went with the Air.

Series 3 was released on 9/22/17. IMO, they won't announce watch hardware 8.5 months after the last release.
Your right! History says, other than April, 2015; both September 2016 and September of 2017 were the Series 1/2 and Series 3 release dates. Series 3 was a big deal, with LTE, so a release before September of 2018 is unlikely.

These deals are okay, clearing out inventory for a refresh. But nothing too great unless you're trying to get a MacBook with decent storage and ok RAM

What's Best Buy's policies if the item is sold out?
Pretty sure, no go thats it.

I've had my MacBook Pro for over a year now and never had a problem with a key on my keyboard. Maybe they POUND the keys instead of touch typing like most keyboards are designed for today. I use my MacBook everyday and carry it back and forth to work with no issues. It goes everywhere with me and gets used a lot.

I’ve had a 15” touchbar since 11/2016. I haven’t had any issues at all. There were a few bugs that were fixed by 10.12.3. Most of the keyboard problems seem to be from people who don’t clean them at all. If you wipe the machine down and use compressed air once in a while you, no one should have any problems. Really solid machine that many are missing out on because bashing them for USB-C and the touchbar were the cool thing to do. If you look at notebooks today, reviewers are criticizing everything that doesn’t have TB3 and USB-C 3.1 gen 2 like the new Surface Book. People don’t like change, myself included, but it quickly becomes the new normal.

When these machines first launched some people had issues with some BTOs specially with the Pro 460s but this can happen with any 1st gen device especially when they’re trying to make them as fast as possible.

Now I see what might have happened - April 30th was the Q1 2018 end for Best Buy. Maybe they were goosing deals at the end of the quarter. Too bad these were sold out on the west coast by the time I saw it :(
