I felt we needed a thread about Pre-Orders with Best Buy. MODs, please make this sticky.

I had issues with ordering on Apple's site when it went live and got a 10/30 - 11/6 date, but I found out later that night that Best Buy still had stock for walk-ins on launch day.

I was able to secure an AT&T iPhone 12 Pro 128 in Pacific Blue for pickup on Friday.

I just checked Best Buy’s website, and they are still showing a variety of 12 Pro models available for launch day pickup in Northern VA.

12 Pro Max 128GB in Gold.
I've had the MAX iPhones for many years now, and I figured I'd give the 6.1 inch Pro a shot. It's nice and easier in the hand, but I do miss the Max size a bit. However Apple making it 6.7 inches now, it starts to get too big.

That is true. I did however get the same phone you have now. And would just prefer to have a bigger device lol for streaming and such. Do I need it, not really. Just nice it's an option on the table. I got the Pacific Blue in the regular twelve but I'm tired of it tbh because it is too dark of a color. Nice at first for me but ehh. Gold, however...

Any downside to ordering at Best Buy? I've seen references online that their phones are universal and not truly unlocked. Does that just mean - for example - if you order from Verizon it'll be locked for a brief period - say 60 days (I think that is Verizon's policy)? Any other difference in ordering from Best Buy versus Verizon?

Also how does the trade-in work? It says you have to bring in your old phone to be verified eligible when you pick up the new phone. However, do you have to trade in the old phone immediately upon pickup of new phone? Or can you wait to make sure the new phone sets up properly and then trade it in within so many days?
