Just to confirm, I called my Best Buy with the same question and they said of course you can use it, it is as good as cash. 😎

the only issue you may run into is for the preorder you can not purchase a gift card with a gift card so you may have to fork over the initial $50 from your own pocket

This is true, you will need $50 in cash for each phone and the balance can be paid via gift card, Best Buy credit card or Gold Bullion!

That's rather lame. I got $299 for a trade-in and was hoping hot to have to shell out much more than that. Boo Best Buy.

talk to a manager they may have the power to override it since you did the best buy trade in.
