I know they have a $25 off pre-order deal for Best Buy members. They also have a free antivirus offer. I pre-ordered there but cancelled the anti-virus since if I ever have to return the ipad for some reason, I think they can charge for the digital software key. Just a FYI. I am not really sure about it. I use Norton anyway.

I would never put that "trash" on my iPad, especially if it is Norton.

No on the PC. I think the promo is for a windows/mac/android version. I never put anti-virus on the ipad. I declined it because I don’t want to be charged something if I have to return the ipad for some reason. They send the key via e-mail and it’s probably non-returnable.

And it also makes as much sense as buying sand in the desert. Getting malware on an iOS device is practically impossible.

Yeah I don't know why they are tacking it on as a freebie to an iOS device. Best Buy probably has a stake in it. I'm grateful for the $25 off though. It pays some of the sales tax. I don't remember that there was ever a time for a pre-order of a new Apple device before launch that there was a discount.

They've been doing gift cards instead of straight discount for preorders for the past few years (pretty sure I saw the offer with both 2017 and 2018 basic iPads).

Since you're a Best Buy member, you'd also get advance notice when they're going to have $75 off the Mini... just sayin' ;)

One time Best Buy tried to sell me some kind of scratch protection insurance for a game I bought in store. I made the same face.
In fairness, I've seen video game discs become so scratched that they're unreadable (careless kids/teenagers).

I always make sure to uncheck those things whenever I buy from Bestbuy. I had to buy from Best Buy because there was one 15 mins from my house for the last 3 years whereas the nearest Apple Store was over an hour away. Now, I live 15 mins from an Apple Store... 10 mins from a Best Buy store. :p I prefer their online ordering as the lines at Apple are usually a bit longer. For Windows 10, I’ll recommend Eset over any McAffee or Norton product.

A friend of mine bought a used Wii and it looked like one of the discs had been used as a surfboard it was so scratched.

Decided to preorder the Mini 5. I was debating between Mini and Air, thinking a larger display could be helpful, but I just love the size of the Mini too much to go larger. I really want to support that line of iPads, and the Mini 5 upgrades offer virtually everything I’d want in a new Mini. $25 off may not be much, but it’s something, and I’m excited to get it next week.

It at least alleviates the taxes a bit. I chose in store pickup. I never did that with a pre-order at Best Buy so I hope it goes smoothly. I love how easy it is to hold the mini with one hand. I have an iPhone X and am not a big fan of the face recognition. Half the time the distance isn't right and it fails. They could have spruced up the design a bit even so but the internals bump in specs is impressive.
