I remember what a hassle I had trying to find an iPad 2 last year. I didn't do the pre-order thinking I could just get one one week after Apple released it. I was going nuts standing on lines at 7am for over two weeks trying to get one. I finally scored my iPad 2 at a Target store after several weeks of frustrations. I guess Apple built more this time and most did the pre-orders because they had the same experience I had last year.

I hit Best Buy (Cypress, TX) right after 10:00 this morning and there were no lines and plenty of stock in all models. I bet they sold a lot at lunch and will sell more later today after people get out of work. Spring break is this week, so I expected more customers.

I showed up at my bestbuy around 11:15 and the sales force seemed to be in shock. Only 10 people had been in line for the 10am opening and when I got there the store was practically empty and they had dozens and dozens of each model and color.
same here! I worked all night and was able to hit up the Best Buy here and there were two guys before me, finally got our tickets at 9am and when I came back at 10, the store wasnt busy at all! But after seeing the new iPad, I decided to wait til I can truly afford the one I want and just continue to use my original for now.

The best buy where I live in Kansas city still has every color and size except the black 64 AT&T. Either they did gret with demand or people aren't buying it like they have the others. You have to remember the economy stinks and it's not a huge upgrade besides the screen. I want to see the numbers in a week and we will see. It may take off this evening, it is mid day Friday and people are still working.
