Best Buy has launched a limited time promotion offering customers up to a $50 Best Buy physical gift card with their pre-order of the latest iPad Pro models, announced at WWDC 2017 this week, through its website.

Specifically, Best Buy is offering a $50 gift card for the second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and a $25 gift card for the all-new 10.5-inch iPad Pro. Best Buy estimates both models will begin shipping on Tuesday, June 13.

For the latest MacBook and MacBook Pro models, also unveiled at WWDC 2017 this week, Best Buy is offering college students an extra $100 off when they sign up for College Student Deals. The discount is provided in the form of an emailed coupon that can be redeemed online or at one of its stores.

Best Buy currently charges the same price as Apple for all of the latest iPad Pro and MacBook models prior to the gift cards and coupons.

Best Buy said customers can also get a minimum $250 Best Buy physical gift card with the trade in of select MacBook models at one of its stores. All three deals are valid in the United States and Puerto Rico only.

I placed my order yesterday for an iPad Pro 10.5" Space Gray 256GB model and I got my $25 BB gift card already shipped. The iPad 10.5" will be available for pickup on June 13th at my local Best Buy store. The promotion also includes Kaspersky Internet Security on 3 devices - 6 months subscription for Android, iOS, Mac and Windows which cost $30.

My 9.7" Pro will be fine for at least one more cycle. While the enhancements are nice, it's iOS that needed the help considerably more than the hardware itself.

I had to remove the $25 gift card from my cart in order to be allowed to use reward points toward the purchase. That is super lame. Devalues my hard earned reward points.

$50 gift card, meh....wait for a better deal from Target.

Exactly.

Use the Target Card, and the $949 iPad is already $47.50 off. No need to spend a gift card later.

IN NY State, with 8.75% tax...
$949.99 + tax = $1,033.11 at Best Buy - $50 gift card = $983.11
$902.49 + tax = $981.46 at Target.

Target is already cheaper if accounting for tax.

I'll be sticking with my iPad mini 4 until it breaks. When that happens they'll hopefully have a newer mini. If not I'll probably forget the whole tablet thing.

One more cycle? The 9.7 Pro debuted March 2016, I would suspect it has at least three iOS cycles for support.

If only I had the foresight to not get a 16Gb Air 2, but hopefully I can just barely make it one more year and then am definitely upgrading! I love this thing, as it's more than capable of running things but the low storage is killing it. :(

Also, has apple increased the iPad prices?

I'm waiting for the 9.7" pro to be discounted.
Where can I find them for a good deal?

BB is actually charging $0.99 more (plus the tax on that $0.99) than Apple, dropping the benefit to less than $24 on the base 10.5.
Target is not yet taking pre-orders.

IMO the best deal is to bring my current iPad to Apple and trade it in, no hassles. They give me a decent price and it makes upgrading easier on the wallet.

Do in store pickup and get it when they open Tuesday. Otherwise you'll have to wait on delivery (Thursday most likely).

Had $500 in gift cards. Burned them for a 12.9/256. Placed separate order using $55 in rewards for an open box pencil since rewards can't be used due to the gift card (super stupid).

I normally snag open box Apple stuff since you can haggle (politely and be ready to walk). I just jumped in this time. First time in like 15 years I've bought a brand new Apple product at full retail.

Sold my 12.9/128/LTE w/pencil and smart kb last week for $850 locally. I had about that invested in it when I bought everything last year lol. Broke even.

Target is good with red card discount

Though I prefer my credit card free accidental damage protection. Target red card doesn't offer extended warranty or 90-120 day accidental protection.

A better way to save money is to buy from B&H Photo and not pay an sales tax (unless you live in NY or NJ). That will save you more money than a $50 Best Buy Gift Card.

Target's website has them $100 off right now and, if you have a Target red card, you can get another 5% off.

$100 off the 9.7 is piddly. BestBuy had them for $100 off ($150 off for EDU customers) a month after launch. Now it's discontinued. Should be minimum $200 off IMHO. I bet Target retail will have stronger discounts once the 10.5 arrives in stores. Better as others noted B&H w/ no tax.

I still love my Air 2, but the Pros are very tempting. I was thinking the 9.7 Pro would be the way to go as it would be cheaper once discontinued, but that faster screen refresh on the 10.5 with a smoother Apple Pencil sounds really nice. Might wait a little longer for deals on the 10.5.

For people withe the BB Card, there is 12 months no interest. Might be helpful to allow people to get the 512GB model when they otherwise couldn't afford it up front.

Personally, I prefer to use other people's money for free for 12 months than drain my bank account all at once. Why not?

Ontario, Canada tax: 13% HST. Eek!

The universal healthcare makes up for it.

Used a 10% coupon so ended up under B&H even with tax considered. Couldn't use the coupon and get the $25 gift card free ordering but I called customer service after ordering to ask why and they're sending me a $40 gift card (an extra $15 for the hassle.) No complaints on this transaction.
