So my JB 128GB iPhone Plus was scheduled for delivery this past Friday and along came Hurricane Matthew so it didn't get delivered until yesterday....just as well I suppose b/c we just got power back yesterday and things have been a bit chaotic and to be honest, this has been last on the priority list!

I had called BB for Price Match last Thursday before all of this happened and still hadn't heard back so called again yesterday and the CS rep I had originally talked to left off some info and it didn't get processed. So here I sit with my unopened iPhone waiting for BB to approve the price match because I refuse to keep it unless they do...not paying $100 extra and I still have a preorder with Apple that is still processing with deliver date Nov 11. BB rep who I talked to yesterday said it should be 24 hours... but I'm skeptical.

Would really appreciate any input from others who have done the price match call...how long does it really take and do they email you approval or does the credit just show up on your BB card in a day or two?

Better yet, why even spend money at Best Buy if they're not going to have competitive prices?

Why not just go into the store and do a price matched immediately?

If you buy it online you have to call in the price match-they won't let you do it in store.

Because I was able to get it earlier than November and they usually will price match-last year I purchased my iPhone 6 Plus in store and they matched Apple's price.

I guess that's a good reason. I just hate Best Buy and really only shop there if I have a gift card.

I've never had any real issues with BB. One other perk is I get the 12 month interest free finance option.

From prior experience never succeeded in having BB process a price match over the phone for online orders, even after speaking to reps who promised they will do it as it's part of their price protection guarantee.

That's not very encouraging for sure...but then I've read on another thread where people have had success...

I bought mine from Best Buy online...sent them an email about the price match and a couple of hours later it was done. No fuss, no muss. :)

That's encouraging...didn't know that you could just email b/c it says on their website that you have to call. Did you get an email confirming the price match or did a credit show up on your account?

My stores refuse to do that if you bought online. bestbuy.com is a separate corporate division and the stores do not have to do the price matches if you bought online.

Both, actually. :) They emailed me back with the typical "We typically require this to be done at time of purchase but, we'll make a special one time exception....for you...because we love you...blah, blah, blah" response and then a few days later the credit showed up on the account.

Best buy doesn't want to sell you high demand iPhones full retail. They want you to buy them elsewhere. They don't make money off of full retail iPhones.

I have but not for full retail iPhones.

That's not true...if you order online you can do the price match after the purchase as long as it's within the return period and this is right on their website. Just goes to show halt they don't know what they're taking about!

This. They will do it if you are within the return period b.c you could simply return it and repurchase it with the price match. I always see people hating on best buy, but I think maybe that is based on really old experiences with them, not sure. They price match pretty much all major online retailers and carry pretty much all tech products....what's the problem with them?

It's called "Making the customer feel special". :p

That way, next time, I'll think back and think "Wow, those Best Buy folks are good people...I think I'll give them some more of my money!" :D

off subj: if you do the financing with BB, and you want to upgrade next year, what happens then, and with the 7+?

It's not really a financing arrangement...they just have 12 months no interest if you put the purchase on your BB credit card.
