"Proven sources familiar with Best Buy’s distribution centers have told 9to5Mac that supplies of both the Mac mini and Airport Extreme are exceptionally low. In fact, shipments of Apple’s Airport Extreme WiFi base station have stopped coming into major distribution centers that cover the west coast of the United States. Additionally, individual Best Buy stores across the nation are low on Mac minis and are not expecting many more shipments."

Only question at this point (imo) is whether we'll see the new Mini's next Tuesday (6/21) or the week after (6/28).

How does the Apple store usually react? Is it usually the last to the party when it comes to out of stock? Just noticing while other websites are becoming sold out, all the online apple stores show "ships within 24 hours".

This isn't the first time in the last 6 weeks we've seen BB run low and then get stock back in a week later.

What is might mean is people are still buying the mini and as a result Apple has little incentive to upgrade the little beast.

The Apple Store is (almost?) always last to to these parties. As a matter of fact, Apple has been known to not update the expected delivery but when you order all of a sudden your order goes into shipping expected in 5-7 days. And then you wake up one morning and have the option of getting what you ordered or switching to one of the just released models. (Sometimes getting what you ordered isn't an option.)

Incentive would be parts availability and the ability to sell new machines to existing customers.
