Headline is misleading. The 4K AppleTVs are not on sale (Best Buy site shows them at $179 and $199). You simply get free shipping or fast in-store pickup. I can already get both of those from the Apple Store.

EDIT: Oops. My bad. I saw 4K TVs and read it as 4K AppleTVs
In the SF Bay Area, the Apple TV 4K is hard to find. My order (64GB) is due to ship Nov 13th. Not sure what is going on. I won’t believe it is a demand issue.

Um. What? BBY has no history of this, unless you’re talking about an open box item, which is clearly marked as such and sold for a lower price than brand new. My last two MacBooks were both open box, and worked/still work great for hundreds less than retail.

Of course they are talking about open box items. They said "reselling returned merchandise boxes." They have a history of not actually putting stuff in the box they claim it has. I've heard stories of open box dvds not having the right movie, and of not having a movie at all. I've heard of people buying printers and stereos that say "original cables included" but one or more cables are missing. TVs marked "like new" but don't have the remote. I mean, they arent gamestop criminal, else they would remove items from new products so they can resell them, but they are what you get when you have non-comissioned sales people being told they have to sell warranties above all else.

Well these people are stupid, then, and deserve to lose money. There are different levels of Open Box, the lowest being stuff that lacks items like cables, remotes and such. My friend picked up a TV like this that was basically half off because it was missing the remote and had a scratch on the base. He used a Harmony remote setup and was going to wall mount the thing anyway, so basically no F's but either of those issues. Now the highest level, Open Box Certified, is guaranteed to have everything it originally sold with, the downside being that is the most expensive of the returned items. In any case, anytime you buy something used, you're a fool if you don't check it out first before you buy it. When I purchased the two MacBooks I mentioned above, the employees at the customer service desk were more than happy to open the box with me to make sure everything was in there, and let me fire them up to run the paces and ensure they worked properly. Took maybe ten minutes, and was completely worth the hundreds of dollars in discounts from the original retail price.
The ONLY people I feel bad for are the ones who get a sealed item home they paid full price for, only to discover the box is full of phone books etc, because some douchebag with access to a sealer purchased the item, took everything out of the box, repacked it with something of similar weight, resealed the box and then returned it for a full refund. Of course the staff at the return desk aren't going to double check because to them it looks as if the original seal is intact, so it's almost the perfect crime.
