I'm an ex employee at best buy and I highly recommend you buy from the Apple store. For one, I'm not 100% sure if this is true, but I heard on this site that Apple has stopped with their restocking fee. Once again, not 100% sure if that's true, but if it is, that's a really good deal. Secondly, Best Buy's Geek Squad Protection is a rip off. You'd be much better off w/ Apple care.

I mean it's your choice, but I've experienced much better service from Apple stores than I have from Best Buy. If you ever need to bring your computer back or have it serviced, your experience will differ w/ BBuy.

Never seen the anti-glare at Best Buy. One plus though if you're premier silver member 45 day return window + no restocking fee. Worked out for me a year ago!

Just bought my 2.2 i7 15" from my local best buy. They even gave me the education discount once I showed that I was a college student. Not a bad deal if you're a reward zone member too. When I asked them how long they had been in stock, he said they got their shipment this morning between 10-11am.

The BB I called had no idea what i was talking about...:(

Listen...

With some exceptions... Because it will depend on how big your best buy store is.

Best buy, Amazon, and other retailers won't have it for like weeks. I am talking about 2 weeks or even more.

This is obvious because if they sell it thru best buy, then they have to pay money to best buy like commission. If they sell it thru apple store, they have a bigger margin. Order it online or drive it up to apple store.

Lol read upwards a bit... A handful have already bought from BB

I said exceptions. Read as well. My local best buy doesn't have them and I called all three of them.

I don't know why would any one buy the GeekSquad Protection for an Apple product... Doesn't make any sense. Apple care or even standard Apple support is so much better. You can't even compare the two.

The only reason I want to buy from BB is because I have raked up $200 worth of rewardzone points and I also want them to match my student discount as well. So, that would be a total $300 worth of discounts - almost enough for me to buy a SSD for that price. Or else, I am all for buying Apple products at Apple store.

I purchase my Apple products from BB for two reasons. One is that the rewards you get with the reward zone program are AWESOME... Two the closest Apple store to me is a 4+ hour drive...

apple doesnt want other companies taking its release date sales :O

I got mine at the local Best Buy today at 11:30 CST. They got them shipped yesterday and unboxed them today.

They didn't have them on display, but when I got there they had the new ones. Posting this from the one I bought. :)

Our local Best Buy got the '10 version on launch day as well.
