Wow. Between this $150 off, $150 .edu discount, and other incentives, I could pick up a 13" MBA for $450 out-the-door. Tempting. Very tempting. This is the same deal that I took advantage of nearly 4 years to the day to get an 11" MBA for $450 out the door.

Yeah, two years to the day I got an iPP 9.7" at BB for $525. Still love it. But anyway, this latest offer has me in two minds. Only last week, on Amazon Prime Day, I got an Acer Chromebook 14, for $199, which I also love [apart from the NON-backlit keyboard], and just now I've ordered a MBA for $699 [.edu discounts, no "incentives" I'm afraid ] which I can collect tomorrow in Salem, NH tax free and all that.

So, what to do with the Chromebook, hmm, there's the rub! And yeah, I know, I know, folks whine an' all about the non-retina display of the Air, but you know, the first thing I did with the Chromebook was to keep the resolution at 864p or something, rather than the 'default' 1080p which frankly makes text WAY too small [for me, anyway] on a 14" display.

Perhaps one or the other will be returned in a week or two, but somehow i doubt it as gadgets and stuff is all really i spend money on.

Well if it comes recommended by a Gunslinger, it must be good enough for me. I think you (and my fascination with light up stuff) have sold me on it. I'll prob wait until the 15 pack goes on sale though or maybe wait until these touch sensitive ones are out. Have you seen them? Anyway, thank you for your reply.

I have seen those, they actually revealed them shortly after I bought my starter pack for the triangles of course :/ As it stands, I don't think I'd mix the two designs together and I don't have much other wall space in my apartment so I'll prob stick with expanding my triangular design.

And thankee-sai! So many people are noticing him this past week I love it. Long days and pleasant nights:)

Can you program certain panels to light up with certain HomeKit triggers? Does it work with IFTTT? I have Ring stuff that doesn't work with HomeKit yet (I know, sigh).
Hmm I'm not sure about your first question. Nanoleaf works by choosing a Nanoleaf scene that combines into a HomeKit scene (if you use the Home app) to activate. So I guess theoretically you could make your own custom Nanoleaf scene that only has certain panels activated, name it, and then add it into the HomeKit automation you want. I've only ever lit up the entire Nanoleaf, so can't be sure!

And it does work with IFTTT: https://ifttt.com/nanoleaf

Wonder if I can combine that with an affiliate link. Suppose the Apple employee discount is still better even with the student and affiliate commission stacked.
Hey there, apologies if I'm too late but here's an affiliate link for Student Deals: https://click.linksynergy.com/deepl...ls/pcmcat276200050000.c?id=pcmcat276200050000

I have given up trying to purchase the gift cards at the discount price. Each time i do that. Bestbuy sends me a confirmation email. Then it says unfortunately they had to cancel my order. And no one one at the toll free number can figure out why it is doing that to me.

That Nanoleaf - Aurora Rhythm Smarter Kit is so tempting. A quick Google shopping search says that it is a good price. Someone talk me in or out of it please.

Looks great when turned on, but when it's off it looks like cheap white plastic hanging on the wall (which is what it is). May work in a college dorm or a bar, but not a good fit in a nice home.

Update 7/27: Best Buy's Black Friday in July sale is live today for all shoppers, and the retailer is now offering 15 percent discounts on $25, $30 $50, and $100 App Store and iTunes gift cards. Options include both physical and e-mail delivery gift cards, so head over to Best Buy to load up on iTunes credit before the sale ends.

These gift cards are literally on sale every day of the week at some store.

Thanks! I was thinking about trying to "design" it almost like an abstract dashboard system that only I would be able to understand. Like I could assign outside temperature to 1-3 panels on the left side, maybe dedicate a panel to weather conditions (pulse slowly when it's raining?), set other panels to certain alerts like if there is motion outside my house or if someone rings the doorbell upstairs, one that shows whether my front door is locked, etc. My hope is the new touch panels will allow us to control things by tapping them too, otherwise I don't really see the point.
