[app]Pocket Informant[/app] does all that except the notes. Note support will be added later though.

Its also buggy, slow as molasses, especially when syncing with google calendar.............tends to lock up while sync is running. Overall, nothing has really changed since it was first released.

For 20 years I used a Franklin Planner, now last week I switched to my iPod. I'm still transferring over info. For a to-do list I use Easy Note, it's free, simple and the best to-do list I’ve found, for a calendar I use IKoyomi2, it can show 2 months at a time, for notes I use Awesome Notes. PDF's trying PDF reader. Anyone have an good suggestions?

ReadleReader or GoodReader are my choices for PDF reading.

I've stated my calendar and todo list preferences in previous posts

Besides one update, I haven't really had bugs that bothered me. I sync PI to the iOS calendar, but I really only use PI to find free time quickly with PI's monthview timebars.

I don't like any of the currently available programs. Pocket Informant tries hard to overcome the limitations imposed by Apple, but it fails. When used with Google Calendar it is usable and ok, but when used with the default iOS calendars it is very slow.
The only app that I use is miCAL HD. It allows me to copy appointments and that is the only reason I use it.
So most of the time I use the standard Calendar App.

I've been using Pocket Informant since the day it came out and after switching from using/Syncing with Google calendars to using the default iOS calendars there was a huge improvement in speed. Syncing with Google was so slow and problematic at times.

I too used a Franklin Planner for 20 years and I am now using the Pocket Informant app for calendar and tasks. One of the big features that I like about Pocket Informant is that it also can use the Franklin Covey ABC-123 method of prioritizing tasks. Virtually all the other task programs use the GTD method, which to me just seems so confusing. Another feature I like that is not found in many task apps is that when you set a start date for a task as well as a due date the task appears on your task list on the start date. A perfect example is if I need to send a birthday card. I will set the task due date on the persons birthday, but the start date would be a week before. On the start date the task would appear on my task list and it reminds me that the card needs to be sent out and the persons birthday is in one week. The task stays on my task list until marked completed. Other task programs I tried just have the due date.

The calendar app is fantastic and has so many views to choose from. My favorite view is the month view with time bars. The weekly "outlook" view is also good and most people don't know it's even there since it can only be viewed in landscape.

As for the notes part of the Franklin Planner (aka Daily Record of Events) I am currently using Appigo's Notebook app for that. I recently started looking at some other Notebook/Diary style apps but since Notebook syncs with Toodledo I find it to be the best for me since I can sync and have the notes available on my iPhone, Laptop and iPad. Since Pocket Informant syncs tasks with Toodledo I also keep the Toodledo app on both my iPhone and iPad to use the notes section mainly on the iPad. Notebook is an iPhone app and although will work on the iPad, the keyboard is the iPhone keyboard and Toodledo has the iPad version. I am sure Appigo will come out with an iPad version of Notebook soon, or at least I am hoping they do. Their apps are great, but often updates are slow.

A lot has changed since it was first released. I've been using Pocket Informant since the day it was released on the iPhone. It will now sync with the native iOS calendars and therefore there is no need to use Google for calendars anymore. Since I switched there has been a huge improvement in speed and have not had any issues with syncing at all. Google calendar syncing was slow and problematic at times, mainly thanks to the Google side of the sync.

Except for one update, which was acknowledged and corrected right away, I have not had any issues at all with Pocket Informant and with each update the app gets better and better.

I used a Palm for many years and now use PI on the touch 4G. Works great, the only problem I found is trying to edit the date of an event to some time way in the future and supposedly this will be addressed in a coming release.
