As topic states, I’ll be rocking my phone caseless and with a skin only, but looking for something sturdy to hold it in place while driving.

I’ve seen various people just using a MagSafe charger and a 3M metal plate for this, would this be the strongest option in terms of magnets?

I’ve also seen people buying magnetic strips off amazon and doing it that way, but am unsure if would need two of these positioned well near the MagSafe circle on the iPhone to make it work.

I’ve attached a photo of my current set up, I would prefer not to use a vent mount as they do not seem to stay up too long.

I have wireless CarPlay in one car and wired in the other. And the wireless has the ability to connect if I need to charge. So I ordered the Belkin magnetic vent mount for MagSafe. We’ll see. I can always send it back.

Thanks for replies. Has anyone tested whether a MagSafe DIY version would work (like double sided tape onto the car dash)

Just wait for official MagSafe dash mounts to start showing up from reputable 3rd parties.
