Montar

Well there is no doubt that the real winner in the best car mount category is the MONTAR by WinnerGear ... you can see the reviews all over the web ( that's why I decided to buy it ) must say it's not the first car mount and not the 5th but DEFINITELY the last one .

Absolutely amazing ! Using it with my iPhone 5 and tell you the truth , you must see to believe how much good this mount is .

Much rather take a brodit/proclip any day. That thing must be stuck to the window, which is bad, and looks ugly as hell. No option to attach the lightning cable either.

I'm strongly considering this one. I'm wondering if the base interferes with the camera because I'd like to use the ionroad app which is an augmented reality app for driving. Does the base interfere with the camera?

Hi ...

1.well you can definitely attach the cable
2.I use it for my windshield , but you can attach it to your dashboard or even walls because of the strong suction cup ..

Where do you attach the cable?

+1 on that. It is case friendly and your iPhone doesn't move/ is impossible to take it out once it is secured. The locking/unlocking mechanism is cool too.

i know... it is so cool too like yeah, i was wondering if u could get a ticket for having it

I had a proclip pass through setup that cost me ~100$. I have since switched to the infiniapps slyde. Found it while looking for an alternative to the mountek snap. It uses a magnet insert on your phone and installs in the cd slot for a stable clean mount. Downside is you can't use it with a naked phone and you lose the use of the cd slot. But I love the ease of mounting/unmounting and the swivel action I didn't get with the proclip. It also looks cleaner since there is no mounting arms so it just "floats" in the air.

It's an "augmented reality" driving app which provides additional information HUD-style. You can integrate it with your favorite navigation app for a different presentation.

I'll be the first to admit it's just eye candy for me. I don't need to know the exact distance to the car in front of me or know when I'm drifting to the shoulder or other useless info. But looks really cool.

I'm currently using a Bondi which hangs the phone from my rear view mirror. It's nice but it's not stable enough for me to use the app.

I just ordered the Montar. As a rule I hate suction cups but this device seems quite solid.

Seems like removing your device with just one hand is a bit of an issue...that's my biggest peeve on many of these mounts, need to be able to quickly remove it with just one hand and without looking.

----------

I bought this one too but finally gave up on it, in my case my aircon vents louvres are too thin and the airframe easily slides from side to side when trying to remove it, tried both grips with no luck.

Thanks for this, just checked out this video on YouTube and placed my order, looks like a winner http://youtu.be/PzZx3bGvvk4

Removing the phone with 1 hand is extremely easy and fast. It's just as fast as, say, picking it up off of your dash.

There's a little tab on the holder, and all you need to do is grab the phone like you normally would, and have your thumb press this tab back and the phone comes loose (typing out how to remove it is harder than actually removing it, it's super intuitive and you don't even think about it)

Breffo Spiderpodium

I am currently using the Spiderpodium by Breffo. Pretty awesome flexible phone holder that I use in my car air vents!

Hi ...

I still can not see the cable attachment.

This is the Brodit/proclip I have. You can see the cable holder. The great thing is that you just drop the iphone in when you jump in the car, and grab it when you leave. No looking for the cable and having to attach/remove it all the time. The material and build quality is like nothing else I have ever seen in this market. They do many variations too (no cable, extra big cases etc). Also my head unit automatically triggers the iphone to play what it was last playing.

This kind of 'frictionless' use makes a massive difference. I have been using smartphones in my cars years before the iPhone came out and I have tried every type of mount, the brodit is leagues ahead of everything and I use my iphone more because there are less steps to go through. It sounds crazy, but ease of docking the iphone is something I would miss. Having to lean over into the foot well to grab the cable, then connect it, tighten the mount to hold the phone... All meant I would sometimes not bother. Basically its like having a proper dock in the car.

I really like mine

I love my Kenu Airframe

It's a really well made a minimal mount. The spring loaded stainless grip with soft coating really grabs and hold the phone steadily. I use it with my slick round air vent and it worked well, so I am pretty sure it will work with yours.

The thing I love about it is that is is very minimal and the material is top notch, not cheap plastic. It will work with or without cases.

I have been looking for car mount for the last few years. Most of them look down right too bulky for my liking, and I don't like solutions that leave a ugly permanent base as my car is pretty streamline inside. So, this one fits my needs.

Despite the small minimal design, this mount is built to last and will fit all my future phones, so instead of leaving "good enough" alone, I am considering creating a permanent base for it instead of using the vent. The advantages are not blocking the vent and a more stable base.

I think the PRO-FIT mounting bracket is best

I have used these mounting brackets in my last two cars and have never seen anything like it or as good. It is steel, sturdy and fits my dash. I believe it is US made which is key for me. It is not cheap, but you always get what you pay for. I believe you can add whatever holder or case you want with it too.

Anything that can be easily used during Work related Travel in rental cars?
Preferably MINIMAL & COMPACT for work / business travel?

I have a techmatte one-

It's been great so far. I would really like to have one of the ones that go in your cd player, though. But I cannot imaging cd players existing for that much longer, so who knows how much longer they will manufacture those kinds.

I did a review for them through their top reviewer program. It really is a nice car mount. I like how simple it is, yet still sturdy. I recommend it to all my friends.
