I'm with Tesco. Pay £10 a month for 1000mins. 5000txt and 1gb data. Always have full signal. 4G speeds are around 22mb.

They run on O2 but customer service is 1000x better with Tesco. My cousin is with three and says the signal is patchy. As is EE.

Depends where you are and what you want it for.

I'm going to London on Wednesday and will be going with Lyca mobile. 17 pounds for unlimited.

It's not unlimited data, if that's what you're hoping for.

I think it's 'unlimited' 3G/4G up to 5 or 10GB usage, then it drops to 2G.

Plus, it looks like they now offer a 5GB allowance on their £17 tariff: http://www.lycamobile.co.uk/en/bundles?id=1

Tetherme and overriding the data source works :)

I know Tetherme, but can I ask you what you mean by "overriding the data source works" means?

Out of interest, I've used 1GB in the last 8 days, which makes me realise that I'm one of the people that wanted unlimited data, as opposed to genuinely needing it.

I thought I'd update as I've now had the EE SIM for 2 weeks.

Everything's been absolutely spot on, no dropped calls, no data 'not spots', all good.

Incidentally, Ive just checked my data usage and I've used 1.7Gb in the 2 weeks I've had it (that includes a bit of tethering to my iPad while I was waiting for my car to be serviced).

For me, switching to EE was a superb move.

Consider customer service into your decision.

GiffGaff or Tesco mobile are probably the best networks around London. They use O2 signal which is very consistent around London and have excellent customer support.

I'm currently on EE, which has been reliable in the two months I've had my 6 Plus, but past experience (and anecdotes from others) with customer service was terrible. I've never spoken to anyone who was rude, but they are inconsistent and generally useless.

I'll go with the 15 pound plan then with 6gb. Should be enough for my months stay.
