Best/Cheapest way to get video out

At this point a used Apple TV (gen 3) seems like a cheaper option then the official cable from Apple. Is there another option I don't know about?

You could try a used adapter from eBay, but the Apple TV works great. I travel a lot and use the ATV (3rd gen) as a hub so I can stream Netflix and stuff right the the hotel TV. You can get them pretty cheap online refurbished,

Apples Airport Express is only $50 refurbished. May be a cheap one wifi solution.
