But the Co-op doesn't stock games

I am too late with this...

I'm with Coded Dude...

Contra

That's my all-time favorite coop game. I like that you can beat it in around 15 minutes, but it's still fun to play again and again.

That and Life Force which is the same game but going up instead of sideways and in planes instead of running. (Same code at the beginning too, thanks Konami)

Super Mario Galaxy lets 2 people play at once.

You're kidding, right? I haven't heard this, and I find it kind of doubtful... but it would be cool if it happened. Two players, one controlling Mario, the other Luigi, could be really great.

I have to vote for Myth II for the Mac. I know it's not a console game, and it's pretty old, but it still has fun co-op. Some of the co-op mods are pretty fun, too (like the Mazzarin's Demise levels at http://www.projectmagma.net) :)

It was announced a while ago and was playable at E3.
Player 2 takes control of the camera guy (Lakitu again?) and throws star things at enemies. Think Floyd from Jet Force Gemini (which came in handy for that final boss ooooh yea).

Ahh, cool. This is what happens when I don't pay attention to E3. :p

I'm not sure how fun this would be, but I'll wait and see before I judge. I've never played Jet Force Gemeni (worth getting?), but my wife and I played Wind Waker cooperatively when it came out - I'm the gamer of the house, so she got to play Tingle on the connected GBA. :) I don't think it was -that- fun for her, especially since she couldn't help during most boss fights! But it was better than nothing.

Yea, it's no Sonic and Tails style co-op (I put Sonic 2 on my co-op list now) but it does help in giving someone a chance of playing and slightly experiencing the game too. That sort of play screams out for non-gamers. It's just point and shoot. Heh, Mario FPS.

Also... I'm wondering how far the multiplayer options will go. Since Shigsy has been wanting to put a proper multiplayer in a Mario game for a while now (originally a big feature in Mario 64 but shelved for 128).

I think thebest coop game is Lego Star Wars. I cant think of any other game where the game would've been 100x easier if there was just another person playing with me. The game is totally based on coop, but when played on single player, the AI is just too dumb to activate switches and what not. Bosses become impossible unless you can macro...
