I owned a Space Gray Sport for about a week before I decided to trade up to the SS model. I found one at a store a couple of hours away and put it on hold since I was traveling that way this past Saturday. I don't think I'd ever even seen the SS model in person, but man do I really like it. One of the big reasons I wanted to trade was the sapphire crystal. I can be tough on a watch, and I figured sapphire was a good investment. It was one of the things I liked best about the watch I've used for about the past 15 years. To me, the SS model just has a great look. The black screen and crown insert are really offset by the shiny metal. When I'm driving with my left hand on the wheel, and the sun hits the edge of the watch, the starburst is impressive. I was a little concerned about the weight of the SS model, but I never even thought about it when I put it on. I had worn it for about an hour before I remembered that I was afraid it might be too heavy. I have the Milanese Loop, so it doesn't add much weight. I just wanted to share my enthusiasm. I think I made the absolute right choice. I'd love to get a tan leather band. The pictures I've seen of that combo look very sharp to me.

Congrats! I did the same, with the S0, testing the water with a SG sport and then got the SS. The stainless steel Watch is just sooo much nicer.

I went to the Apple Store planning to buy an aluminum watch in Space Gray until I tried both on. It was an easy choice in favor of the Stainless Steel and I haven't looked back. Beautiful watch -- I'm very happy with mine as well.

Excellent. Enjoy your new stainless watch. I too own the stainless models, and they are easily hands-down my favorite. The Saphirre display is a really nice add-on feature.

I did this with S0, got the space grey then traded up to the SS, I loved the SS but I didn't get the SS this time, the cost difference was not worth it in my opinion. Enjoy your SS though it's a really nice watch!

I'm likely in the minority, but I went the other direction. I had a Series 0 SS, then a Series 2 SS SB, but ended up giving that to my spouse and "downgraded" to the Nike+ SG when it was released. I prefer the lighter weight, especially for the times when I wear it while running.

I did the same thing when I bought my first Apple Watch in 2015. Started with the Sport, swapped for the SS after a week, and never looked back. About 6 months later I sprung for the Link Bracelet to complete the look. Looks and feels amazing!

My wife stuck with her silver aluminum model until last month when I upgraded us both to Stainless Series 2 models. She immediately appreciated the higher end look and feel. She loves the shine and it goes great with her Milanese Loop.

It really is a tough decision. $200 is steep for stainless casing and the sapphire display. Those are the two main differences between the sport watch and stainless model. If it wasn't for the Sapphire display, I likely would not have upgraded myself to the stainless model.

The display was the reason I upgraded my S0 at the time, while it did give me assurance it was a lot more money for something I only kept for a year anyway. I am perfectly happy with my SG sport this time and if it scratches it scratches.

And you're Fine with it if it's scratches. I personally, cannot deal with scratches on my screen. Which is why I went to the sapphire display.

Well I'm not fine with it but if it happens I won't lose my mind lol.

I'm the type of person if I scratch the Sapphire display, and if it was bad enough, I would easily sell it and get another one. ESpecially on such a small display, I wouldn't want to look at a scratch on the screen all the time. If it was a regular watch with a scratch on the screen, I wouldn't have an issue with it.
