Best DL DVD Media for an iMac?

Hello all,

I'm looking to pick up some DL discs for my iMac. What's the best reliable media out there? I'd prefer to stay out of the most expensive media so what's the best quality for the price out there?

I just burned a 7.5GB DVD copy of The Silence of the Lambs to a Verbatim. It was actually my first experience with a DVD9, but it did burn correctly. It took around 45 minutes 🙁.


My pc should and will burn this much faster.

Interesting was that some sort of exact copy of the disk? What did you use to rip the DVD?

I use these all the time, probably went through three 25-packs, and have not had one coaster.

I had to throw away 6 out of the 7 traxdata DVD+DL.
No problem so far with verbatim and imagim... the problem might come from my optical block though...

i've burned 3 DL Verbatim 2.4x discs with no probs whatsoever

"dd if=/dev/disk1s1s2 of=/~/Movies/SilenceCopy/VIDEO_TS.ISO". dd and other Unix tools are your friends.
