I wondered what the current recommendations are in terms of docks for 14" MacBook Pro's?

I want to be able to connect 2 displays (I have 2 x Dell 25" 2.5k screens), printer, keyboard, mouse and possibly external hard drive.

I am right next to our wifi hub so don't necessarily need wired ethernet.

I've seen reviews of the CalDigit dock are quite good but anything more affordable?

I have the TS4 from CalDigit and it works great. The only issue I have is that once in a while I need to unplug the speaker from the rear audio jack and plug it back in again to get recognized.

I have a 2.5 GHz fiber connection and I get the full speed thru the 2.5 GHz. Ethernet connection. With the plethora of connections I pretty much can plug in almost anything I have. I have 3 4K monitors connected, as well as a 4K web cam, a mic, a USB drive for Time Machine as well as my charging/sync cables for my Watch, Phone and MX keyboard/mouse.

If all you need is USB, then any cheap USB-C hub should work.

But, if you want to pass multiple video streams though it, then I would recommend a Thunderbolt 4 hub for best compatibility, USB speed and single cable connection + charging. CalDigit and OWC make very decent ones.

USB-C-only hubs (as in not TB4) that also pass video need to slow down the USB ports on it to support the necessary bandwidth to include the video.
