Best DVD Conversion/Authoring Software

Hi all,

I apologise if there is already a thread like this that I have overlooked but I need your expertise.

Say I have 3-4 50 minute video files (for instance, avi), and would like them converted to DVD-R with good quality with a high quality menu, which software would you recommend?
