I am looking for the best (and smallest) battery back to enable my iPad 4 to limp for a few more hours at the end of the day. My iPad tends to run out after about 4-5 hours of usage on the road. I just need something to bridge the gap until bedtime when I can fully recharge.

I was looking at the Anker 5600, but wanted some other options as well.

Thanks!

Mophie makes a battery that charges at 2.1 amps, and I use it for my ipad and it works great. I got the red one cause its sexy.

Are you sure ? I use my sister iPad 4 a couple of times and the longest I seen it run was 5 hours and 30 minutes with full brightness

There's no need to run it at full brightness, half or below is plenty bright enough.

Seriously, try it at half brightness and it'll last ten hours.

I second this. My iPad 4 - about 4 days old - lasts 10+ hours with about 1/4th brightness. Brightness of full is too bright (for me at least).

So what's the highest battery that's still portable? I see anker and others in this thread. What can I put in my pocket but still have a high capacity?

I exaggerated a bit on the battery life. It probably gets 7-8 hours or so, but it always peters out just at the end of the day (unfortunately, I'm up at 5:30, so it gets an early start). I bought the Anker® Astro3E 10000mAh, so we will see if that works for me....thanks for the responses
