I am looking for some feedback on the best English Dictionary available on the iPhone.
If price is no object, then the american heritage dictionary (fourth edition) - NOT THE DESK version.
pricey at $30 but hands down the best dictionary
I second that, just ignore the "American Heritage" bit in the title, I'm an Aussie and it serves my needs just fine eg. it has colour, although curiously it doesn't have "Synchronise" .
In the US we spell it "synchronize", with a 'z' an not a 's', and "synchronize" is in the dictionary
I spend a lot of time in London for work and i know that there are a few other words like the one that you mentioned where the brits spell it with a 's' whereas it's spelled with a 'z' in the US.
Oh I am fully aware of that, I was just commenting that it was peculiar it had colour (the US drops the U) but not synchronise with an S instead of the Z, it also has colorize but not colourise so I guess if you are after British English then it isn't the best choice, which isn't a negative on the app as it doesn't intend to be a British English dictionary.
