Had a look around the internet and noticed some poor reviews of the Belkin adapter on the Apple store, with some people suggesting daisychaining the Apple Thunderbolt 2 -> Ethernet adapter to the Apple Thunderbolt 2 -> Thunderbolt 3 adapter actually results in better speeds.

Anyone using one of these solutions, or another, and have positive things to say about it?

I use a cheap Ethernet-to-USB-C-Adapter from QGeeM. Retail price (in Germany) is $16.50. Reliable speed. Easily maxes out my 1GB/s internet connection.

I've been using the daisy chaining adapters for a few years with zero issues. It is more pricey to do that way but it works great. You can always get a usb c adapter with an Ethernet adapter and have an SD card slot plus other usb spots as well. Good luck.
