Hello dear people!!

I am trying to find a external display that has this amazing retina feeling for my Macbook Pro Retina 15.4" mid 2015, 2880 × 1800 (16:10) 220 ppi.

I prefer 19-23 inch (bigger sadly makes me feel dizzy) and I mostly surf, write and read.

Right now I am thinking of this LG UltraFine 4K 21.5", 4096 x 2304 (16:9) 219 ppi, but it don't look like it is supporting my macbook. ;(

What should you guys recommend?

Thank you, thank you very much!
Best regards from Sweden.

(Btw, already tested a Dell Ultrasharp U2515H 25", 2560 x 1,440 (16:9) 117 ppi, but didn't like it at all, everything gets very small and it was no retina feeling. You can see my testing here: http://imgur.com/a/RIbSu)

You have a few options at 24" (23.6") for 4k. Run it at 1920x1080 for Retina feel.

Dell P2415Q
Samsung U24E850R
Samsung U24E590D
ASUS MG24UQ
LG 24UD58
BenQ BL2420U

The difference between them are some have USB hubs and price. I believe all have HDMI 2.0 (except Dell) to run 60Hz if you're hooking up a PS4 Pro.

Dell is the most expensive and lacks HDMI 2.0. They have an average aesthetic.

Hi!

I also have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015).

I do photo retouching, and I need the monitor's colors, brightness and contrast to be the exact same as my MacBook Pro's screen without having to do heavy calibration. I simply use the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile.

I read above that the Dell P2415Q would be a good choice, but I also read here that the Dell UltraSharp U2415 is the best.

Lastly, when I chat with Apple, they always recommend the LG Ultrafine 4K monitor and the LG Ultrafine 5K Monitor.

What do you guys think of all this?

Thanks!

Hello Everyone...I am in the same situation...buying an external display for my 15" macbook pro retina mid 2015.
Unfortunately I'm not on a big budget, and was thinking about going for an Acer R240HY BIDX for about 100 bucks....
but not sure if I'll suffer big loss for the quality? Any experience with that? Would you advise me rather to avoid that and save some money to buy later a Dell 4k? Or any other advises...?
