Hi team,

Wondering if anyone has an external ssd for macbook air (m1), wife needs it to edit videos on Final Cut pro - sounds like my first choice the Samsung t7 might not be that great, and Lacie has quality issues, now thinking a G-Technology, any input appreciated.

Price is not an issue, just want quality!

Thanks!

Samsung X5 and Samsung T7 are both terrific and work just fine with my M1 MBP as well as with my older intel 2018 MBP.

Claims that extended performance is better than most others. Also it is a USB4 drive so it does USB-C and Thunderbolt compatibility. Haven't used it myself but it's probably what I would pick up.

Sabrent Rocket is quite good for Macs since it uses Phison controller.
Both my wife and I are using Jeyi TB3 enclosure with 1 tb Sabrent Rocket nvme ssd. We got them from Aliexpress. That was the cheapest yet versatile solution for us.

I tend to stick with the brands I know are reliable: Samsung, SanDisk, G-Drive..... I never fool around with using an enclosure kind of setup, I much prefer buying the thing already put together by the manufacturer.

No problem with my Samsung T7 here..... I've used it on both my 2018 MBP and my M1 MBP. Works a treat!
