who would take those pictures and just walk away?

i think it happens quite frequently. i've looked around the interwebs and found several similar independent stories of duckling rescues, most seemed genuine.

DO NOT attempt to rescue ducklings or goslings from the sewer youself. You will most likely scare them further into the sewer where they cannot be rescued. Call the WWC, and we will assess if a rescue is possible or not
