I just got a series 0 as a gift and love it. I was a long time fitbit user and wanted to know the best setup to show the most up to the minute steps taken at a glance. Is this possible? Any help would be appreciated.

I think you could download and install pedometer++ for free from the app store and it has a complication that can be set to show the current number of daily steps on the watch face of your choice.

That said I highly encourage the use of the Apple Watch rings... for me the "Move" ring (red) is a revelation compared to steps because as we all know, steps aren't created equal... a walking step does less than a running step, and a bike, swimming or weight lifting workout does great things for you but hardly adds to steps... the Apple Watch converts EVERYTHING you do to calories burned from motion ("active calories") as the great equalizer which is seen in the form of a daily "Move" goal.

Thanks. It may just take some getting use to.

There are several apps that count steps that you can set up with a complication on your watch face.

Unfortunately Apple doesn’t allow them to be live so you won’t see your actual step count. You can see your step count if you touch the complication and it will load the current data in s couple of seconds.

This in my opinion is the biggest let down of the Apple Watch, not everyone is into the circles and some of us just want to see our live current step count. The option would be great.

Thanks. Is there some refresh time limit on third party apps? I guess to prevent battery loss.

I've tried just about ever step app and none of them updated quick enough, and I have yet to find one that will update live and send notification once a goal is met without opening your phone or opening the app itself on the watch. I do have pedometer ++ as a complication but I find myself using the built in activity (rings) app since it is always up to date and accurate.

Thanks. I wish there was something better. How do you have your face setup?
